Subscribe for more amazing videos! ► http://bit.ly/Subscribe-to-Richest ◄ Marine Helicopter Squadron One (HMX-1) is responsible for transporting the President via helicopter. HMX-1 has a huge fleet of helicopters at its disposal. Any helicopter that transports the President is called Marine One, and there are two different Sikorsky Marine One helicopters in rotation. The Sikorsky VH-3D Sea King and the smaller Sikorsky VH-60N White Hawk are both used by HMX-1, but both helicopter models are extremely outdated. The US government is spending $4.9 billion on a brand new fleet of Marine One helicopters. By 2023, all 23 Marine One helicopters will be Sikorsky VH-92As. These impressive choppers will cost about $237 million each, and they will enter rotation in 2021. The Sikorsky VH-92A is a state of the art helicopter that has a top speed of 190 mph. It can seat 19 passengers and is far more spacious than previous Marine One helicopters. VH-92A helicopters are incredibly powerful; they use General Electric CT7-8A engines that are capable of putting out 2,520 shaft horsepower. Marine One helicopters are equipped with infrared countermeasure devices to protect the president from missile attacks. Every Marine One helicopter is equipped with flares to counter heat-seeking missiles and chaff to counter radar-guided missiles. The VH-3D Sea King helicopter has two infrared countermeasure devices on its underside, while the VH-60N White Hawk has infrared countermeasure devices on its underside and on the roof. Ballistic armor protects the president when traveling in Marine One. Here’s a detailed look at the Marine One helicopter fleet and the features found in these amazing choppers.
