California’s $100 Billion Dollar High-Speed Rail
Everyone loves a bullet train, right? I mean according to the movies they are excellent places to stage a high concept action sequence. Bonus points if that fight contains a samurai sword and double bonus points if that sword fight continues to the roof of the train as it is flying down the rails at speeds of hundreds of miles per hour. People in some parts of the world may only have this impression of bullet trains, especially in America. This will be changing very soon. California’s new bullet train is going to be pretty awesome. It is the most expensive infrastructure project ever undertaken by the US. It will also be the fastest train the entire continent has to offer by quite a big margin. By all accounts, this train will hit speeds of over 200 miles per hour for an affordable price. It will be able to make the leg from San Francisco to Los Angeles in a fraction of the time the fastest trains running today could make. So is this the fastest train ever built? Well, internationally the competition is pretty freakin’ fierce. Japan and China specifically are known for featuring some of the fastest ever created by man. Will California’s newest crown jewel on the rails be able to match up? It would be pretty tough. Then there are the risks. Financially, this is a multibillion dollar investment that might end up costing hundreds of bills. To many this is not worth it. Then there are the insane dangers to take into account.
